If I remember correctly, tt’s from Chapter 12, Van Helsing said it when giving Lucy a transfusion.

Okay, now that seems more familiar (still time for a re-read, though). Thanks 🙂

“A brave man’s blood is the best thing on this earth when a woman is in trouble.”
That’s just what Dracula was thinking when he hooked up with Lucy and, later, with Mina!

I don’t remember that one (time for a re-read!), but that’s some good insight into his motives. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I forgot World Dracula Day this time around – also did not post for World Goth Day this year. Believe me, enough people did post about these events to make up for it. Always good to see anything about Lugosi – thanks for posting.

I miss all kinds of events– it’s not always convenient to post about everything. Glad you liked it, and thanks for commenting (you really can never have too much Lugosi) 🙂

“There is much to be learned from beasts.” By far my favourite.
Slightly off-topic (but also related): I have a favourite quote from Interview With The Vampire which makes me laugh because it’s all about Louis: “All I need to find you, Louis, is follow the corpses of rats.” Welcome to my life! 🤣🤣🤣

Yes–that is a great quote, and quite accurate. Good Interview quote too, even if you can relate a little too much 😀

I also love it when LeStat says, “Oh Louis, Louis. Still whining Louis. Have you heard enough? I’ve had to listen to that for centuries.” I can relate to that one, too. 😳

Lol I’m starting to picture the book with Louis the vampire replaced by Louis Catorze. I would read that 🙂

I wouldn’t. 😬

LOL It’s different when you’re living it 🙂

Indeed! Catorze certainly has the teeth for it, though. 🧛♂️

I would read it and watch the movie adaptation 🙂

I could just put a camera in Le Château and that would be the movie adaptation. 🤣

Hmm, a touch choice but apart from the fifty boxes of earth lines, the one that always stuck in my memory was the description of Renfield: “His method of tidying was peculiar. He simply swallowed all the flies and spiders in the boxes.” 😉 Now, that’s the way to keep a clean room! 😉

Why do you think I have cats (they take care of insects *and* rodents)? 😉 Thanks for sharing your quote– Renfield is a great character!

Haha good call!! 😉 Just noticed my earlier typo but glad you know I meant tough not touch 😉
Agreed, he’s portrayed with some depth isn’t he!

Ha ha– to go with your typo, I actually accidentally hit send when I was trying to add a bit more to my comment! I wanted to also add that Renfield probably merits a book of his own (origin story, anyone?) 🙂
