Quote of the Day

Quote of the Day, blog post by Aspasia S, Bissas, aspasiasbissas.com. Quote by Margaret Mead: Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have. Get the covid vaccine.

I’m happy to report that I finally got my covid booster (third shot, Moderna this time). No side effects at all other than a sore arm. I’ll keep getting boosters as long as it takes, if that’s what needs to be done. So far, at least 5.6 million people (and counting) have died from this disease, and the virus keeps mutating with every new infection (because that’s what viruses do). Yet there are still people who refuse to get vaccinated or even wear a mask (never mind the lowest of the low who are deliberately spreading misinformation). Keep caring, my friends, and stay safe…

Cheers,

Aspasía S. Bissas

  1. Wonderful Quote for a life. And you really have a strong immunity because I got side effects after both my vaccines. By the way, I m glad to hear that you have completed your vaccination. Be safe.

  2. Excellent stuff! I had Astra Zeneca for my jabs and Pfizer for my booster. No real side effects either, save for a bit of a sore arm, that was easily manageable and a slight feeling that a cold was coming on…. Which went away after 24hrs.

Alas, there will always be idiots in the world though.

    1. Thank you 🙂 Back in Uni I took a Canadian history course and the prof had written a book on the history of vaccines. I read it out of interest and was surprised to find that a fair bit of the book seemed to be devoted to convincing the reader that vaccines are good and safe. I remember thinking “who needs to be convinced of this?” Now I know, unfortunately.

      1. Ironically, it seems the people that are anti-vaccinations are the ones who live in places where they are not needed (unlike countries where diseases such as rubella, malaria, measles, polio, smallpox and more are rife). I imagine they would feel different living in a place where modern healthcare was rare.

      2. Apparently the people in those countries can’t believe anti-vaxxers exist. Who could blame them? I do have to point out that smallpox has been completely eradicated– thanks entirely to vaccines– other than a couple of samples in secure labs. We should all be grateful too.

      1. Thank you! Just getting back to you as I already got the Moderna booster jab likewise.

Got inoculated on 5th February, but I had a fever the next day which lasted a the entire day. As of now, I’m only experiencing a slight soreness on my left arm – but nonetheless, I can function properly.
