Literary Ink

I don’t have any tattoos (mainly because I can never settle on a design long enough to get one), but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate some attractive ink, especially when there’s meaning behind it. These book lovers did settle on a design, and they picked ones that reflected their love of the literary. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, or just interested in seeing what others have done, enjoy…

Although I think watercolour-style tattoos probably don’t age well, they’re absolutely beautiful when they’re fresh.

I’m not usually a fan of quote tattoos, but this Little Prince one has my full approval:

The clean lines and simple design of this Clockwork Orange tattoo evoke the book’s cover perfectly:

Nancy Drew is pure nostalgia for me. This silhouette tattoo is beautifully done:

I’ve never read any of Hermann Hesse’s writing, but this is a great tattoo:

I think these do a lovely job of expressing how books can open worlds to a reader…

…or how it feels to get lost in a good book…

  1. The ankh between my shoulder blades is based on the Camarilla symbol from Vampire: The Masquerade. Admittedly thats more of artwork from a literary source, but still. 🦇😉

      1. Every time! 😂😂😂
She’s a Brujah, he’s a Ventrue, THAT is a proper Gangrel (my favourite clan). I also play the game of “Spot the Discipline” especially when a vampire gets shot at quite a lot and it’s still standing “They have loooooots of Fortitude!” 😆 Do you?
