Van Gogh Immersive

Van Gogh Immersive, blog post by Aspasia S. Bissas, aspasiasbissas.com

My first real venture back into “normal” life happened on Wednesday, when after months of postponements due to lockdowns, I finally got to go see the Van Gogh Immersive exhibit! Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite what I’d been expecting, or hoping for. While the people working there were absolutely fantastic, the venue just wasn’t the right one for this kind of show. But you know what? I don’t care. It was just amazing to be out enjoying art in person again (I should add that everyone there was vaccinated and wearing masks). Sometimes, a disappointing experience can still be perfect 🙂

Have you seen anything good (or disappointing but still good) lately? Share in the comments…

      1. I’ll be honest- it wasn’t until I saw a certain Doctor Who (Matt Smith era) episode where it showed us an animated version of one of Van Gogh’s paintings and I thought “That’s it! He was painting in motion!”

      2. That is my favourite episode of the entire series! It was so beautifully put together, and I think it gave amazing insight into Van Gogh as both an artist and a person struggling with his mental health. And it had Bill Nighy too 🙂

      3. Definitely one of the better episodes to be sure! Tony Curran made an excellent Van Gogh! And yes it did. 😁

    1. I don’t know about where you live, but they’ve been extending the dates here so it’s lasting quite a bit longer than it was initially set for. If they’re extending dates there, you might get a chance to see it, after all (I really hope you do!) 🙂
