I’ve decided to go for it and give podcasting a try! To start I’ll be sharing my blog posts in podcast form, but in time I hope to expand to talk about all things books, writing, and vampires (I may even share some of my fiction). Go ahead and give the first episode a listen and let me know what you think…
(You can also follow this link directly to my channel and listen there.)
Cheers,
Aspasía S. Bissas
You sound great – congratulations on your first podcast!

Thank you very much! Although I can’t take credit for the voice (I used the platform’s reader/narrator). I do eventually plan to do my own reading eventually, though 🙂

That’s awesome! I recently launched a podcast for my blog too. It’s definitely been a learning experience, but an enjoyable one. Happy podcasting!

Is that actually you reading it or are you using a software program to read it for you?

For now I’m using the host site’s reader/narrator. What did you think– does it sound okay?

Ah, cool! It does, I had to listen to it twice as I was listening to the voice the first time round. I do voice work myself which is why it threw me a little. My only critique with the reader/narrator is that sounds a little flat- in that when talking and reading, our voice has inflections and we emphasise words when wanting to make a point. That and there wasn’t any pacing that allowed for breathing if that makes sense!
It still sounds okay though and I’ll be looking forward to more.
If you fancy taking the further plunge, you can use Audacity for editing your own. It’s free to download and easy to use, plus there are tons of YT vids you can watch to learn how to use it. Hell- I’m still learning.
Keep it up and looking forward to the next one. 😁👍🏻

I know exactly what you mean about the flatness and pacing. I tried using punctuation and formatting to get it to pronounce things slightly differently (and more like an actual person would), but it didn’t help. I think in time I’ll switch to my own voice, so thank you for the tip on Audacity– much appreciated! And thanks too for the kind words of support 🙂

It was close! Looking forward to when you do use your own voice, but that’s when you’re ready to do so. You’re welcome! 😁

I’m equal parts nervous and excited to take over the narration myself– I just need to get the hang of this whole podcasting thing first 🙂 Thanks again!

I can totally understand the nerves, can’t wait to see how it evolves. When I get round to doing my own (on storytelling) I’ll be posting that up too. Keep going!

Yours sounds like it’ll be right up my alley! Looking forward to that 🙂 (Side note: I’m starting to see why so many people are into podcasts.)

Thank you, It’s my project for after I’ve finished learning to drive. I aim to do a tester for Halloween, so I’ll be sure to post about it!
They’re great I love listening to them!
