I finally finished Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett! To be fair, I read another book in between, but still, it took an embarrassingly long time. I’m going to take a bit of a break from Pratchett now (he’s a good writer, but I just can’t get into his books). My new read is actually a re-read, and now that I got my hands on the sequels, I thought I’d tackle the entire series. The Confectioner’s Guild was a fun one, so I’m looking forward to the other books.

Kudos to finishing Guards! Guards! If I find it difficult getting through a book I just stop reading it. At least you finished yours!

I’ve been told I’m stubborn 😉 I do sometimes give up on books, though, usually if I’m just not enjoying it at all.

What a gorgeous cover! Tempting to try The Confectioner’s Guild just because of that cover. I know, never judge a book by its cover, but we all do. Currently reading a cozy titled Undertaking Irene by Pamela Burl. Is it high art, no, but it’s punchy and fun. Next up is the Dorothy Allison, Trash. I like to mix it up. 🙂

I like a mix too– why not? 🙂 I originally got the Confectioner’s Guild as a free ebook, so check online– it might still be available free. How are you enjoying Undertaking Irene?

Undertaking Irene is fast paced and fun. It has lots of quippy dialogue and the plot is clever. I’m getting tired of the ‘I just inherited an inn and now there’s been a murder’ books. So this one is refreshing light read.

Ha–yes, I’ve noticed that’s a bit of a trope 🙂 I’ll have to check Undertaking Irene out.
